The Cottage Dress in Natural Linen + Cotton Gingham

from $210.00

The Cottage Dress is a loose maxi featuring large sewn in pockets. The dress is slightly gathered beneath the front and back with wide straps that create a sweet and flattering neckline. It is the ultimate homesteading dress that you can find comfort in both day and night. We love wearing this dress around the home, in the garden, and even as a nightgown in the summer!

Features two big side pockets perfect for collecting herbs, flowers, seashells, or any of nature’s tiny treasures.

Made from the most beautiful organic natural linen or naturally dyed cotton gingham check. The fabric is a medium weight and it gets softer with every wear and wash.

About the Fabrics:

Natural Linen - The natural color of this linen is earth made and the color of the flax plant once it is spun into thread. The fabric is not dyed or bleached. After flax is harvested it goes through a process called retting. Retting allows bacteria to breakdown the plant so the fiber can be more easily separated from the stalks. Natural linen varies slightly in color (from grey to taupe) depending on the retting process and how much sun and rain the plants received.

Handwoven Cotton Gingham - This cloth is considered an ‘old world’ cotton that has been cultivated and traded since 3000BC. It is Indigenous to the region of Kachchh in India, where this yardage is grown organically (rain-fed), hand-spun, naturally dyed and handwoven by a cooperative of artisans that has been creating this cloth for generations. The cloth is yarn-dyed; the brown is dyed with kutch wood, the white is unbleached/undyed, and the black is achieved with iron.

We’re a slow fashion brand and our garments are made-to-order to ensure materials are not wasted. Please allow a 2-3 week production time.
