The Hakone Jumper in Natural Linen

$225.00

The Hakone Jumper was the first of our designs by Compost Clothes and taught us the journey of crafting a garment. When we first started dreaming up this piece I was in the beginning stages of my pregnancy. By the time we finished drafting the pattern, I needed a larger fit to accommodate a growing body, which is why we decided to add a belt.

We designed this garment to be versatile. You can wear it without the belt for a very loose free flowing fit, or styled with the belt for a slim fit look. This linen jumper features a low v-neck front and back, side pockets, and wide pant leg. Detailed with coconut buttons down the front to make it easy to slip on/off.

Hakone, named after the Japanese gardens in our hometown, a place we would frequent and a blissful dwelling space to experience timeless beauty. The gardens as well as this jumper are a beautiful representation in which art and nature merge seamlessly.

Linen is one of the most durable and sustainable fibers in the world. Our jumper is made with the most luxurious organic natural colored linen. The fabric is a medium weight and it gets softer with every wear and wash.

The natural color of this linen is earth made and the color of the flax plant once it is spun into thread. The fabric is not dyed or bleached. After flax is harvested it goes through a process called retting. Retting allows bacteria to breakdown the plant so the fiber can be more easily separated from the stalks. Natural linen varies slightly in color (from grey to taupe) depending on the retting process and how much sun and rain the plants received.

We’re a slow fashion brand and our garments are made-to-order to ensure materials are not wasted. Please allow a 2-3 week production time.
